The Jewellery Art Association Finland and
Museum of Cultures Helsinki invited jewellerymakers to choose an object from the permanent collection called Fetched From Afarand to create a new piece based on the chosen object. Ineke Heerkens' interpretation of “Water container, Kirov, Russia” is a frozen movement in a strong graphic form; the outline of a hand. It is a derivative of a daily gesture such as pouring water, which is literally transformed out of an aluminum kettle.
